Ornament Making (Trezo)


Known in Bhutan as Trezo, the ornament making is an art of making ornaments and religious items which is also vibrant. Most ornaments are being made of Gold or Silver including brass and copper. Brooches, Rings, ear rings, necklace, bangles are some of the products made by masters of craftsman known as Troe Ko Lopen. Ritual objects like butter lamp container, offering bowls, duung, jaling, copula, as well as pinnacle are being made. Gliding and electroplating are also an art practiced by gold and silver smith in Bhutan. Due to difficulty in design and production not many join this trade but indeed this is one of the high income trade and can catch the market.

Trade Details:
This course is designed to prepare school leavers for work in the highly demanding field of Wood Turning works. The course provide competencies to enable trainees to develop, maintain and design/ Program contains a detailed module given below.

  • Duration of Course:4 Years for Certificate and 6 Years Diploma course.
  • Entry Level: Class X Passed.
  • Recognition:Government of Bhutan and Private sectors recognize skills and knowledge gained through studies, training, workplace and life experience which may allow you to gain a better job and through our cultural programs you can get a good recognition in cultural activities and farming too.
  • Career: In Privates, Entrepreneur, Self Employment, Government Institutions.

 

Cost for the Course : Initial Fee of Nu. 250/- and you will be paid a monthly stipend of Nu. 1500/-
